The growing proliferation of unmanned autonomous systems (UAS) in modern warfare demands cost-effective countermeasures. Recent incidents in NATO airspace have highlighted the urgent need for tiered defenses to avoid the impracticality of using high-cost responses against low-value drones. Scalable solutions are essential for effective deterrence and defense.
L3Harris offers a versatile portfolio of counter-UAS capabilities designed to address the evolving threat across air, land, and sea domains. These advanced solutions provide comprehensive protection and strategic superiority for NATO forces, tackling both current and emerging challenges in modern warfare.
“Our counter-UAS systems have been rigorously battle-tested, successfully neutralizing hundreds of hostile drone attacks during combat operations,” said Ed Zoiss, President of Space and Airborne Systems at L3Harris. “We are fully equipped with proven, purpose-built, scalable, and interoperable solutions ready for immediate deployment.”
L3Harris’ portfolio includes CORVUS-RAVEN and Drone Guardian, each offering versatile counter-UAS capabilities. CORVUS-RAVEN integrates advanced AI and machine learning for passive signal detection and real-time situational awareness, featuring an onboard jamming system that detects, disrupts, and disorients hostile drones with minimal manpower. Drone Guardian provides scalable, layered defense strategies using multiple sensors for threat assessment and disruption.
The wolf pack launched effects platforms – Red Wolf and Green Wolf – enable forces to neutralize hostile drones at the source, shifting from defensive to offensive stances. Combining kinetic and electronic warfare capabilities, the wolf pack can hunt and attack at greater ranges than legacy systems. These affordable platforms are deployable on fixed-wing, rotary-wing, UAV, ground, and maritime assets, ensuring NATO interoperability and U.S. system compatibility.
VAMPIRE is an affordable, compact ISR and counter-unmanned system (C-UxS) designed for deployment on nearly any platform, vehicle, or vessel. Since 2023, it has defeated hundreds of hostile drones in European combat operations. VAMPIRE now includes advanced WESCAM MX-Series EO/IR sensors, precision weapons, electronic jammers, and non-kinetic effectors, with AI/ML for rapid target engagement. Initially fielded in under eight months, VAMPIRE continues to see multiple orders, driving production expansion.
L3Harris’ WESCAM MX-10D RSTA is a highly stabilized EO/IR sensor system for ISR and targeting missions on amphibious, armored, reconnaissance, and counter-UAS vehicles. It provides high-performance multi-spectral imaging and AI-enabled drone detection. WESCAM MX-Series systems are supported by a new manufacturing facility in Katowice, Poland, enabling rapid delivery and sustained readiness.
